PyroSpin is a group of performers based in Santa Barbara, CA, who play and dance with live flame. This unique dance performance art originated in Maori and later Polynesian cultures using Poi, which are two balls on the end of hand tethers, traditionally flaxen twine. Now this spectacle has evolved to include Fire Poi, Fire Eating and Dragon Breath, Long Staff, Double Staff, Torch/Poi (Porches), Dragon-Chain, Fire Swords, and Fire Sculpture Installations. Music plays, stories are told, tensions build, and the movement of light, sound, and warmth provide a stunning and exciting visual picture of a truly unique form of entertainment.
